What is an example of the kind of discrimination successfully ended by
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

The National Organization for Women (NOW ) is an organization for the defense of women's rights. Its approach prioritizes achieving economic equality and rights equality. The organization has also been active in the fight for the right to abortion, reproductive freedom, against racism and intolerance in defense of the LGBTQIA community.

One example of the kind of discrimination successfully ended by efforts of NOW is unequal access to public places. The Oak Room was a bar and a restaurant in the Plaza Hotel in New York City that only received men during weekdays (monday through Friday) until 1969, when NOW members organized a protest. Similarly, women were not allowed to enter McSorley Irish Tavern in New York city until August 10, 1970, after NOW's lawyers filed a case of discrimination against the bar in the District Court and won. The bar was forced to admit women and the bathroom became unisex.

In one paragraph, describe how new technology made World War I significantly different from earlier wars. Provide examples of ne
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer: The WWI had many technological advancements which made this war different than the earlier wars. Tanks, flamethrowers, poison gas, tracer bullets, interrupter gear, and others were invented during that time.

The new technology influenced who won the war because they made the war more difficult and eventually they led to a massive slaughter.

The wars also got shorter because more people were getting killed at the same time, for example, machine guns were able to kill a lot of people at the same time. Because of that, WWI is known as the “the war to end all wars”, the death toll was higher than all wars before.

Eventually, after the war was over the technology that was used in the war was imported to other places and were able to help and change the way people lived. Airplanes became stronger and quicker, gas masks were invented, new medical innovations were created such as blood donation.

In the end, the new technology that permeated the world war I in many aspects still influence us until today.

For a person standing outside of the Great Mosque of Isfahan, the dominant visual element of the mosque is the pathway through a
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

The answers are Letter B and C.

Explanation:

The Great Mosque of Isfahan is positioned at the center of the old city

and shares walls with other buildings. Far from being an insular sacred monument, the mosque facilitated public mobility and commercial activity thus transcending its principal function as a place for prayer alone.

Linking the four iwans at the center is a large courtyard open to the air, which provides a quiet space from the hustle and bustle of the city. Given its sprawling expanse, it is hard to locate the correct direction for prayer.  The qibla iwan on the southern side of the courtyard solves this issue. It is the only one flanked by two cylindrical minarets and also serves as the entrance to one of two large domed chambers within the mosque.
