One of the main themes presented in the article is the question of who is in charge of our life. This is because the text presents three characters who live their lives in the best possible way, but were surprised by the force of nature, which when rising the sea level threatens to flood the city where they live. This threat completely changes the lives of these characters and it can change their destiny. Hence the question: is the destiny of the human being controlled by himself, by nature or by another element?
