Answer:

C Proportional measurement

Explanation:

Scales are used to represent proportional measurement. They are mostly used to represent the proportion of real life dimension to the figure on paper or a computer system.

By use of scale we can represent a large detail area with proportionate sizes on paper.

  • Scales are used extensively in map making or cartography.
  • Objects on map are usually represented proportionately with their dimension on the ground.
  • There are different ways of representing a scale.
  • There is relative fraction, statement scale and bar scale.
  • An adept map reader should be able to translate between map and real life data.

Therefore, the correct choice is that scales represent proportional measurement.

The first one, valleys. Rivers had to be built over, no one wanted their farms to be turned into a railroad (or at least those with common sense), and deserts had no water and was really hot during the day and cold at night.

Discuss the effects of global trade on countries
vladimir1956 [14]

Answer:

Global trade can have many fundamental effects on countries around the world. International trade results in the rapid development of countries and infrastructure. In addition, global trade can introduce new products and materials to countries, increasing development. This exposes countries to a variety of goods and services that were previously unavailable in their domestic economies. Imports from other countries also tend to lower consumer prices, which has a positive effect on global economies. Overall, global trade is central to the economic development of countries worldwide and positively impacts quality of living.

What are two steps you would take to make your city or suburb a more sustainable place? Why would these steps make your home mor
mafiozo [28]

The town is which I live is Negotino, Republic of Macedonia. The is located in the driest part of the country, so it is very common that there's problems with water during the warmer part of the year. The landscape is mostly dominated by two things, vineyards and barren land which has the characteristics of a is semi-desert, so the town, and the municipality as whole, lacks in wood as well.

My two suggestions for making the town and the surrounding area more sustainable would be:

1. Planting the whole barren land with wild or semi-wild apricots

The wild and semi-wild apricots thrive in this climate, do not need any maintenance, don't have problems with high temperatures and droughts, nor with very low temperatures. From those apricots, the fruits can be used for production of juices and kompots, selling them for much lower prices in the municipality and throughout the country, so the municipality can get a significant income, income that can be used for improving the town's infrastructure and any projects. The shells of the apricots are excellent for heating, thus can be distributed to the households throughout the town as a material for heating during the winter. The trees will also contribute to better air quality and lower the effects of the strong winds.

2. Construction of water collectors

Construction of water collectors will be extremely useful, considering the semi-arid climate in the area. The water collected during the spring and autumn can be used for all sorts of things in the town, thus minimizing, or maybe even eliminating the water problem during the drier parts of the year.
