Answer: Option B

Explanation:

Immune system of human beings responds to the antigen specifically and non specifically.

Non specific response consists of some physical and chemical barriers but in case of specific response, antibodies are produced specifically for the antibodies.

The T- cell and B- cells of the body works by coordinating between them, so if T-cell will not tend to produce cytokines, then B-cells of the body would not present antigens, as they work in coordination.

So, the correct answer is option B

Name a hormone secreted by the thyroid gland that acts to lower blood calcium
Sergio [31]

Answer:

Thyrocalcitonin or TCT

Explanation:

Thyrocalcitonin or TCT is a non-iodinated calcium lowering hormone. It is originating from the parafollicular cells or C cells (C for calcium).

The thyroid gland consists of follicles of cuboidal epithelial cells. These cuboidal cells have a nucleus at the base. These are principal cells responsible for the synthesis of thyroid hormones.

In between these follicular cells, other high cuboidal cells are present, known as parafollicular cells / C cells. These cells synthesise the hormone TCT. When there is high levels of calcium ions in the serum, TCT will release. This lowers the high level of calcium ions in the blood and plasma to normal level. This is done due to the deposition of calcium in the bone.

Arturiano [62]
This is false. Gross production is the total production that occurs before cellular respiration, or any net loss of energy occurs. It is impossible to maintain this initial amount of energy, however.

Why do conservationists sometimes purposely set a forest fire?
Oxana [17]
Conservationists occasionally light forests on fire to control wild fires. By occasionally burning material (like leaves, branches, etc), those materials cannot build up and cause large and uncontrollable fires later.
