What is one similarity between diction and jargon ? what is one difference between the two ?

English

Diction is word/phrase choice in a writing, and jargon is a set of terms that are used within a specialized group--for example, legal terms used within a law office would be considered jargon. not everyone knows what a docket is, or what it means to be subpoenaed. diction is simply the words a writer chooses when crafting a work.

they're similar in the way that they're both parts of language and they're both rhetorical strategies. jargon can make a person seem more professional, as they use the specialized language of their skill, and that ties into diction because specialized word choice can have a great effect on people.

Write a story with a expression At least we arrived safely
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

Answer :-

Explanation:

Everyone was preparing for the journey.

It was a hectic day at work. But given that all my relatives work at the same office- The Monsoon Inc.- it was a big relief.

The monsoon ministers were going to each individual and giving them instructions about where they had to begin and end their journey.

My parents and I were, thankfully, given the same starting and ending point.

It might sound ridiculous, but our office was a makeshift one. It was never in the same place. Sometimes it's on a huge cloud, sometimes it's on a small one. Sometimes it's near the sun and sometimes it's near the rainbow.

Anyway, we were all ready to go on our journey now.

My father went first. My mother, next.

It was my turn now. I was petrified. It was my first ever journey as a rain drop.

“Go ahead now! You're going to be fine.” The monsoon minister consoled me.

I took my first step outside the cloud, and down I went.

It was hard to open my eyes at first. But when I did, there were no familiar faces.

There were stranger drops on leaves, some were falling right beside me, some fell on buildings, some went right on the ground.

Terrified, I looked down on the ground I was about to fall on. Amidst the blurriness, I eventually found my parents waiting for me.

After reaching the ground I let out a sigh of relief— At last, we arrived safely

9. Correct the pronoun error in this sentence. Mr. Thompson is now accepting applications for her yearbook staff.
sveta [45]

Answer:

Mr. Thompson is now accepting applications for his yearbook staff.

Explanation:

Pronouns are words that replace nouns in sentences. Pronouns that express ownership are called possessive pronouns. They include pronouns my, mine, our, ours, its, his, her, hers, their, theirs, your and yours.

When we want to express something that belongs to a female, we say that something is her/hers. When something belongs to a male, it is his. In the given sentence, the subject is a man (Mr., or Mister Thompson), so the appropriate possessive pronoun is his: Mr. Thompson is now accepting applications for his yearbook staff. Had the subject been a female (e.g. Mrs. Thompson), the sentence would've been correct.

Which sentences correctly use parallel structure?
8_murik_8 [283]
Sentence 3&4 both follow a parallel sentence structure. Sentence 3 says "because of the snow and ice" and "because of the lack of heat", which have the same structure. This applies for the last sentence as well.
