im assuming the equation is:-

3 / (2g + 8) = (g + 2) / (g^2 - 16)

3(g^2 - 16) = (2g + 8)(g + 2)

3g^2 - 48 = 2g^2 + 4g + 8g + 16

Answer is A  x = -4

3g^2 - 2g^2 - 12g - 64 = 0

g^2 - 12g - 64 = 0

( g + 4)(g - 16) = 0

g = - 4, 16.

Test these solutions:-

g = -4

left side = 3/0    which is indeterminate

right side = -2/0  indeterminate

So x = -4 is extraneous.

x = 16:- LHS = 0.075  RHS =  0.075  so x = 16 is a root.

Answer:

g = -4 is the extraneous solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation :

\frac{3}{(2g+8)}=\frac{(g+2)}{(g^{2}-16)}

3 (g²-16) = ( g + 2 ) ( 2g + 8 )

3g² - 48 = 2g² + 8g + 4g + 16

( 3g² - 2g² ) = ( 8g + 4g ) + ( 16 + 48 )

g² = 12g + 64

g² - 12g - 64 = 0

g² - 16g + 4g - 64   = 0

g ( g- 16 ) + 4 ( g - 16 ) = 0

( g + 4 ) ( g - 16 ) = 0

Since ( g + 4 ) & ( g - 16 ) are zero factors

So, g = -4, 16

Now we test these solutions. for (g = -4)

L.H.S (Left Hand Side)= \frac{3}{2(-4)+16}=\frac{3}{(-8+16)}=-(\frac{3}{8})

R.H.S. (Right Hand Side) = \frac{(g+2)}{(g^{2}-16) }=\frac{-4+2}{16-16}=\frac{2}{0}

L.H.S. ≠ R.H.S. So g = ( -4) is not the answer, so g = -4 is the extraneous solution.

Now for g = 16

L.H.S. (\frac{3}{32+8})=\frac{3}{40}

and R.H.S. \frac{16+2}{256-16}=\frac{18}{240}=\frac{3}{40}

so LHS = RHS

Therefore. g = 16 is not the extraneous solution.

Sati [7]
If we divide 56 by 4 we get 14.  Why by4?  So that one number is 3 times the other So he had 14 balls that went into the green bags and 42 (56-14) that went into the red bags.  We could just answer the question and say 14 but I think they want to know how many in each green bag.
14 and 42 don't work because they are not the same number of balls.  What number is a common factor?  7 is,
We could have 2 green bags and split the 14 balls into 2 groups of 7 and with the remaining 42 - put them into 6 red bags of 7 each.
And so the answer to your question is:
7 ball in each bag  = 2 bags are green, and 6 bags are red
                                        14 balls              +    42 balls            = 56 bouncy balls

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the area of a semicircle the formula is

\frac{\pi r^2}{2} \\=\frac{\pi 1^2}{2} \\=6.283m^2

The square

A=a^2=2^2=4m^2\\6.283+4=10.283m^2

A=wl=7*9=63m^2 (rectangle)

A=\frac{ab}{2} =\frac{6*4.5}{2} =13.5m^2\\63+13.5=76.5m^2 (triangle)
