Thank about it this way, you have 3 logs, each different lengths, and you lay them next to each other. The longest is on its own and the two smaller ones stacked on top of each other beside it. In order to make a triangle, there must be at least a slight angle coming off the longer log - this means the sum of the other two must be larger than the longest one, otherwise a triangle cannot be made.
A) 5 - 2, 3
2 + 3 = 5
5 = 5 therefore no
B) 9 - 7, 3
7 + 3 = 10
9 < 10 therefore yes
C) 9 - 5, 4
5 + 4 = 9
9 = 9 therefore no
D) 15 - 7, 6
7 + 6 = 13
15 > 13 therefore no

B is the set of numbers

What is the area of a triangle that has a base of 15 1/4in. and a height of 18in?show work
Sauron [17]
Answer : 137.25

Step 1 -  Convert the base of a triangle to decimal form

15 1/4 = 15.25

Step 2 - Multiply base by height

18 * 15.25 = 274.5

Step 3 - Divide 274.5 by 2

274.5 ÷ 2 = 137.25

Solve this problem and show all the step involved.If ad=12and ac=ay_36, find the value of y.Then find ac and DC
pochemuha

Answer:

y = 15

AC = 24

DC = 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

AD = 12

AC = 4y - 36

See attachment

Solving for y

From the attachment:

AD = DC

and

AC = AD + DC

Substitute DC for AD

AC = AD + AD

AC = 2AD

Substitute values for AD and AC

4y - 36= 2*12

4y - 36= 24

Collect Like Terms

4y = 36+ 24

4y = 60

Solve for y

y = 60/4

y = 15

AC = 4y - 36

AC = 4 * 15 - 36

AC = 24

AD = DC

DC = AD

DC = 12

(4) 64 tiles,   (5) \mathrm{N}=\mathrm{s}^{2},   (6)  N^{2}=S^{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data: Side length of square tile = 1 ft

(4)  Side length of square pool = 8 ft

\text {Number of tiles} =\frac{\text { Area of square pool }}{\text { area of square tile }}

=\frac{8 \times 8}{1 \times 1}

= 64

Hence 64 tiles needed for the border.

(5) Suppose number of square tiles be N and side of square tub is s ft.

So, N = \frac{s \times s}{1 \times 1}

\Rightarrow N=s^{2}

So, the expression is \mathrm{N}=\mathrm{s}^{2}.

(6) The equivalent expression is \mathrm{N}^{2}=\mathrm{S}^{4}.
