Let t be the number of tomatoes and c be the number of cucumbers...

t=2c and c=t-4

Using t=2c in c=t-4 gives you:

c=2c-4 subtracting 2c from both sides

-c=-4 dividing both sides by -1

c=4

So Maddy picked 4 cucumbers.

Alecsey [184]

The price in dollars per gallon is 4.02 dollars per gallons.

How to find the price of gasoline in dollars per gallon?

Gasoline costs 1.05 euro per litre in France.

The first thing to do is to determine the equivalent amount of the same litre in dollar while in France.

Then, equate it the quantity of litres to gallons.

Hence,

1 euro = 1.01 dollars

1.05 euro = ?

cross multiply

price = 1.05 × 1.01

price = 1.0605 dollars

1 litres = 0.264172 gallons

Therefore,

cost = 1.0605 / 0.264172

cost = 4.01552442257 dollars per gallons

cost = 4.02 dollars per gallons

Therefore, the price in dollars per gallon is 4.02 dollars per gallons.

55% of 6th grade students voted in the student election. 440 sixth grade students voted in the student election. How many total
Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

800. Here's why:

Step-by-step explanation:

This indicats that 440 students make up 55% of the 6th grade population. We can write this as

55/440.

We also know that 'x' total students make up 100% of the 6th-grade population, so we can write this as

100/x.

55/440 must be equal to 100/x. When cross multiplied, it becomes 50x=44000. If we divided each side by 50, we'll find that x=880. Therefore, there are 800 6th graders

EXPLAIN What is the quotient when 1,000,000,000 is divided by 28x 57
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

626,566.42

Step-by-step explanation:

The quotient is answer of a value divided by another value. In this problem we have a value of 1,000,000,000 divided by the product of 28 x 57.

This can be represented like this:

Total=\dfrac{1,000,000,000}{28*57}

Total=\dfrac{1,000,000,000}{1,596}

Total=626,566.42

The fraction can also be used to indicate a number being divided by another number.
