Italy's location made it easy for Roman ships to reach the other lands around the sea. The two main mountain ranges helped protect Rome and its large plains made it easier to farm the lands.

What was the three-fifths compromise at the constitutional convention
IgorC [24]

Answer: B. only three-fifths of the enslaved population would be counted when calculating each state's representation in Congress.

The Three-Fifths Compromise was reached during the 1787 United States Constitutional Convention. The question was whether the slave population would count when determining a state total's population number, which would be used to determine the number of seats that each state would have in the House of Representatives.

The compromise that was reached was to count every three out of five slaves as a person for this purpose. It gave the Southern states a third more seats in Congress than if slaves had been ignored.

What threat was president truman referring to in the speech above?
quester [9]
I found an excerpt with the above question. It also had choices.

The excerpt goes like this:
I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures... If we falter in our leadership, we may endanger the peace of the world - and we shall surely endanger the welfare of our own nation. - President Harry Truman, 1947

The choices given were:

a. Regional wars in South America

b. The spread of communism

c. Civil disobedience in U.S. cities

d. The formation of the United Nations

e. The rise of the military industrial complex

Based on the excerpt, the threat President Truman was referring to was:

B. THE SPREAD OF COMMUNISM.
