While Bradford himself was not particularly religious, religion would have been a factor in the decisions many of the pilgrims made and as such cannot be overlooked. The pilgrims were very religious people who would have expressed a strong "Protestant work ethic." Additionally, there would be a discussion on food scarcity and the agrarian community. One of the priorities for the pilgrims would have been sufficient food and developing the economy and infrastructure to have that would undoubtedly be a part of the book. Further, the book would discuss the voyage on the Mayflower and the subsequent landing at Plymouth Rock.</span>
