Hawaii is home to volcanoes, however the eruptions that come from the volcanoes are very small and ineffective. Hawaii is also very hot, and is 1 of the 2 states that DONT follow daylight savings, the other one being arizona.

Also, everyone is prone to some sort of prejudice, so this can also affect history.
