The main reason for being Jaisalmer and Bikaner being very hot in summer is because of them being in desert Thar, and also being far away from northern mountains and from southern Arabian Sea

Explanation:

Jaisalmer and Bikaner are two towns located in Rajasthan state of India. They are present in Thar desert. The sandy (because of its lower specific heat capacity) gets hot too quickly in contrast to soil of cultivated land (with trees and plant).

Both the towns have sun directly above them during the summer months April-July). This fact too causes an extreme temperature.

Their distance from cooler northern mountains and from Arabian Sea is another cause of high temperature.

Thar Desert and these towns get very less amount of rain even during the Moon-soon season. This is another reason for their hot climate.

All these factors combine to make Jaisalmer, Bikaner and other towns of Rajasthan and Thar desert very hot during summer.
