The reason why you should be aware of a company's background before you apply is because it's going to effect you and you're professional techniques as you might have the expertise the company would need. If you research the background of a company and it matches you're ability of skills you will be more likely to apply to that company as it will be more beneficial to you and what you have to offer. That is why it is important to be aware of what you are applying for and be further more prepared.
