Answer:

Declaration of state of war with Japan

Great Seal of the United States

Joint Resolution Declaring that a state of war exists between the Imperial Government of Japan and the Government and the people of the United States and making provisions to prosecute the same."

Enacted by the 77th United States Congress

Effective December 8, 1941

President Roosevelt, wearing a black armband, signs the Declaration of War on Japan on December 8, 1941

On December 8, 1941, the United States Congress declared war (Pub.L. 77–328, 55 Stat. 795) on the Empire of Japan in response to that country's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor the prior day. It was formulated an hour after the Infamy Speech of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Japan had sent a message to their embassy in Washington, but because of problems in decoding and typing out the very long message – the high-security level assigned to the declaration meant that only personnel with very high clearances could decode it, which slowed the process – it was not delivered to the U.S. Secretary of State until after the Pearl Harbor attack. Following the U.S. declaration, Japan's allies, Germany and Italy, declared war on the United States, bringing the United States fully into World War II.

The Thirty Years’ War in Central Europe began when
VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

The Thirty Years' War was primarily fought in Central Europe between 1618 and 1648. Estimates of the total number of military and civilian deaths which resulted range from 4.5 to 8 million, the vast majority from disease or starvation. In some areas of Germany, it has been suggested up to 60% of the population died.[14]

Until 1938, the war was usually presented as a German conflict; this changed when historian CV Wedgwood argued it formed part of a wider, ongoing European struggle, with the Habsburg-Bourbon conflict at its centre.[15] This is now the generally accepted view, with related conflicts such as the 1568–1648 Eighty Years War, the 1635-59 Franco-Spanish War, and the 1629–31 War of the Mantuan Succession.[16]

How did the invention of the steam locomotive and the clipper ship change the way American goods were marketed
krek1111 [17]
The steam locomotive allowed for the transportation of goods at a much more rapid rate than by horse. The railroad let people know exactly where and when goods would arrive. The trains also gave the cargo a safer ride as it was much more difficult to rob a train than a horse drawn transport. As more railroads were built, products could travel farther than ever before in a timely manner. This brought down the cost of freight transport and increased profits for many businesses.
