The llano is treeless, grassy plain. They are located in South America and can be found in several places across the continent. This grasslands are vast lowland areas, and they represent one of the largest biomes in this part of the world. Because of the abundant grass cover, the llanos naturally has very fertile soil, as the grasses leave enormous amounts of biomass that quickly decomposes and constantly builds up another, new fertile layer on top. The people have used this, and the llano areas are extensively used for farming and ranching, providing high quality and high quantity production from both the farming and the ranching.

c. Junta - 3. group that controls the government

The juntas, unfortunately, have managed to be the dominant forces in lot of countries around the world. Even though their number has reduced, there are still countries where the governments are controlled by these groups. Basically, the juntas are groups that are heavily militarized, having control over the majority of the military arsenal in the county, and having a military dictator as the leader. Even if there are elections held and the people have decided that someone else should lead the country, the juntas often don't accept that, so they refuse to give up their power, and continue to rule the country. Such example in the present is Myanmar, a country in Southeast Asia that has been under the control of a junta ever since it gained independence.

d. Compaction - 1. the pressing of soil particles closer together, reducing the amount of air between particles

The compaction is a process through which the soil, or rather the sediment particles are pressed closer together, and as they are, the amount of space and thus air between them is reducing. In order for this process to occur there has to be certain condition on display, with the temperature and pressure playing the main roles in it. The compaction is a very important process when it comes to the formation of rocks, to be more specific - sedimentary rocks. As the particles are getting pressed and they come closer and closer, if there is a material that can ''glue'' them naturally, they will become part of one whole, creating a new sedimentary rock.

e. pampas - 5. grasslands of South America

The pampas is one of the two large grassland biomes of South America. It is located in the northern part of Argentina, throughout all of Uruguay, and in the southern part of Brazil. It is a vast lowland area covered with grasses, and it naturally has very fertile soil because of the enormous amounts of biomass from the decomposing grasses. Because of the fertile soil and nutrient rich grasses, the pampas has been extensively used for farming and ranching, just like the llanos is in the northern part of the continent, so it is an area that is of great economic importance for all three states that have share of it.
