Answer:

A' (3,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

You start with (-3,5)

Translation Down 4: (-3,1), just subtract 4 from the y-coordinate

Reflection over the y-axis: (3,1), multiply -1 to the x-coordinate

  • X-(A\cup B)=(X-A)\cap(X-B)

I'll assume the usual definition of set difference, X-A=\{x\in X,x\not\in A\}.

Let x\in X-(A\cup B). Then x\in X and x\not\in(A\cup B). If x\not\in(A\cup B), then x\not\in A and x\not\in B. This means x\in X,x\not\in A and x\in X,x\not\in B, so it follows that x\in(X-A)\cap(X-B). Hence X-(A\cup B)\subset(X-A)\cap(X-B).

Now let x\in(X-A)\cap(X-B). Then x\in X-A and x\in X-B. By definition of set difference, x\in X,x\not\in A and x\in X,x\not\in B. Since x\not A,x\not\in B, we have x\not\in(A\cup B), and so x\in X-(A\cup B). Hence (X-A)\cap(X-B)\subset X-(A\cup B).

The two sets are subsets of one another, so they must be equal.

  • X-\left(\bigcup\limits_{i\in I}A_i\right)=\bigcap\limits_{i\in I}(X-A_i)

The proof of this is the same as above, you just have to indicate that membership, of lack thereof, holds for all indices i\in I.

Proof of one direction for example:

Let x\in X-\left(\bigcup\limits_{i\in I}A_i\right). Then x\in X and x\not\in\bigcup\limits_{i\in I}A_i, which in turn means x\not\in A_i for all i\in I. This means x\in X,x\not\in A_{i_1}, and x\in X,x\not\in A_{i_2}, and so on, where \{i_1,i_2,\ldots\}\subset I, for all i\in I. This means x\in X-A_{i_1}, and x\in X-A_{i_2}, and so on, so x\in\bigcap\limits_{i\in I}(X-A_i). Hence X-\left(\bigcup\limits_{i\in I}A_i\right)\subset\bigcap\limits_{i\in I}(X-A_i).

one teacher wants to give each student 7/8 of a slice of pizza. If the teacher has 7 slices of pizza then how many students will
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

The teacher can hand out pizza to 8 students.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find how many slices of pizza the teacher can hand out , you can divide 7 by 7/8 and round down the nearest whole number.

7 ÷ 7/8 = 8

8 is already a whole number. No need to round down.

The teacher can hand out pizza to 8 students.

If _____, use threshold braking any time you need to brake hard.
Inessa [10]

Answer:

The correct option is;

A. You don't have ABS

Step-by-step explanation:

A car braking system works by the friction action the break pad applies on the wheels, when the break is applied with much force, due to hard and sudden breaking of the motion of the vehicle, the break pad stops the rotation of the wheels but the vehicle could however continue skidding due to the high initial momentum

The being skidding vehicle in a situation of kidding increases the likelihood for an accident as the the vehicle can no longer be controlled at the steering either

Threshold braking is the technique of bringing the vehicle to a stop or slowing down in the shortest time possible by applying an optimum breaking force during breaking

Anti-lock Braking System is a safety feature that prevents skidding by keeping the wheels of the vehicle or aircraft from locking when excessive break is applied such that traction maintained between the wheels and the road.
