It depends on your nature. I think every person have its own technique he/she uses when in tension.
But i saw that most people use the technique to drink alcohol to reduce or release their tension. some people liked to sit alone to reduce tension, some liked to listen music, some went on long drive, so everyone used different techniques. When i have to release tension, i will watch movie.
