Women's suffrage in Arizona was granted by an initiative reform measure, being also the first initiative in the state. It was a great victory and Arizona became part of the nine other states that allowed women to vote in the US. Eight years after that, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution guaranteed all US citizens the right to vote.

Which Persian leader do you think made the biggest contribution
torisob [31]
Cyrus' conquest was relatively humane compared to empires preceding his, such as the Babylonians and Assyrians. He allowed many areas of his empire a great deal of autonomy, rather than centrally controlling things. This distributed leadership allowed Persia to cover a greater geographical area than previous empires in that era and still be fairly stable, since most of its subjects were content to remain under Persian rule. Persian law was more codified and less arbitrary than previous empires; the king's seal declared approval of law which could only be reversed by further approved decrees -- not quite rule of law but going in that direction.

How were African Americans affected by the Black Codes?
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

Under the Black Codes, all Black people, convicts or not, were subject to curfews set by their local governments. Even their day-to-day movements were heavily dictated by the state. Black farm workers were required to carry passes from their employers, and meetings Black people took part in were overseen by local officials.
