Martin is studying sucrase activity. He added sucrose solution + sucrase solution + buffer of pH 5.6 in two tubes. He incubated

them at 350C and 1000C respectively. When he performed a confirmatory test, only the first test tube showed enzyme activity. How would you justify the inactivity of the enzyme in the second test tube?

I assume that second tube is under 100 degree celcius incubation. In the second tube case, the temperature is too high for the enzyme to properly functioning and most of cellular activities at this temperature will normally stop because the temperature is exceeding their maximum thermo threshold.

In a plant called jimsonweed, flowers can be white or purple. A jimsonweed plant with white flowers is crossed with a jimsonweed
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

Although statements are not given in the question, we could make the most possible deduction as follows:

The allele for purple flowers is dominant whereas allele for white flowers is recessive.

Explanation:

According to the question,

 1. Purple flower plant was crossed with white flower plant.
 2. All offsprings have purple flowers.

Here we have one possibility that both parents were homozygous but in their own traits. Purple flower plants were "PP" and white flower plants were "pp" So, the first progeny (direct offsprings) would have "Pp". So, as per considerations, purple is dominant allele which will mask the recessive allele thus defining the color of all offsprings as purple. However, further cross of their generation will definitely end up into purple and white flowers (3:1) but this condition is not mentioned in the statement.

Before the dna fragments are separated what happens
Hitman42 [59]
How are DNA fragments separated using gel electrophoresis? ... A solution ofDNA molecules is placed in a gel. Because each DNA molecule is negatively charged, it can be pulled through the gel by an electric field. Small DNAmolecules move more quickly through the gel than larger DNAmolecules.Nov 20, 2007

A small town is located near a body of water and enjoys cooler temperatures than other areas in the same climate zone. This is an example of a microclimate

Explanation:

 • The microclimate is nothing but experiencing a different temperature, which is restricted to a certain area only. It might be experiencing a lower temperature in comparison with the surrounding regions.
 • The dry climate is experiencing a very high temperature and polar climate is nothing but a region where there are no warm summers and the temperature would be less than 10 degree Celsius.
 • Climate zones are characterized by distinct parameters and these are found near the poles
