Answer:

The original fraction was \frac{4}{8}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The correct question is</em></u>

In a certain fraction, the numerator is 4 less than the denominator. If 4 is added to both the numerator and the denominator , the resulting fraction is equal to 8/12. What was the original  fraction (not necessarily written in lowest terms)

Let

x ----> the numerator of the original fraction

y ----> the denominator of the original fraction

\frac{x}{y}

we know that

x=y-4

so

the original fraction is

\frac{y-4}{y}

If 4 is added to both the numerator and the denominator , the resulting fraction is equal to 8/12

so

\frac{y-4+4}{y+4}=\frac{8}{12}

\frac{y}{y+4}=\frac{8}{12}

Solve for y

12y=8y+32\\12y-8y=32\\4y=32\\y=8

<em>Find the value of x</em>

x=y-4

x=8-4=4

therefore

The original fraction was

\frac{4}{8}

I believe the answer is B

If not B, then C because “less than” would imply this symbol “<“ is present

“Product” would imply this symbol “•” or this symbol “x” is present

So it can’t be A or D

The base of an isosceles triangle is 4/5. The perimeter of the triangle is 4\2\15 what is the length of either of the remaining
crimeas [40]

Answer:

  1 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming you mean the perimeter is 4 2/15, the sum of the lengths of the two equal sides is ...

  4 2/15 - 4/5 = 4 2/15 - 12/15 = 4 -10/15

Then either of the remaining sides is half this value, or ...

  (4 -10/15)/2 = (4/2) -(1/2)(10/15) = 2 -5/15 = 1 10/15 = 1 2/3

Each of the remaining sides has length 1 2/3.

What is the measure of arc CD?
CaHeK987 [17]

Option C:

The measure of arc CD is 40°.

Solution:

Given data:

m∠X = 11° and m(arc AB) = 18°

To find the measure of arc CD:

We know that,

<em>Angle formed by two intersecting secants outside the circle is equal to half of the difference between the intercepted arcs.</em>

$m \angle X =\frac{1}{2}({arc  \ CD}-{arc}  \ AB)

$ 11^\circ =\frac{1}{2}({arc}  \ CD-{18^\circ})

Multiply by 2 on both sides.

22° = arc CD - 18°

Add 18° from both sides.

40° = arc CD

Switch the sides.

arc CD = 40°

Hence the measure of arc CD is 40°.

Option B is the correct answer.
