Consecutive resonances occur at wavelengths of 8 m and 4.8 m in an organ pipe closed at one end. What is the length of the organ

pipe? (Note: Resonances occur at L = nλ/ 4, where L is the pipe length, λ is the wavelength, and n = 1, 3, 5,…)

Answer:

Length of the organ pipe is 6 meters.

Explanation:

Let resonance occur at wavelengths of 8 m at n and wavelength of 4.8 m at (n+2). We know that resonance occurs at,

L=n\dfrac{\lambda}{4}

L=n\dfrac{8}{4}

L = 2 n.................(1)

And,

L=(n+2)\dfrac{4.8}{4}

L=n\dfrac{8}{4}

2n=1.2n+2.4 (from equation (1))

n = 3

Put the value of n in equation (1). So,

L=2\times 3=6\ m

So, the length of the organ pipe is 6 meters. Hence, this is the required solution.

The electrical charge of particles. The total number of electrons in an atom is always the same as the number of protons in the nucleus. This means atoms have no overall electric charge. The number of protons in an atom is called its atomic hater number.

Answer:

(E) Second law of thermodynamics

Explanation:

The second law of thermodynamics can be understood according to Clausius' words: In an isolated system, no process can occur if a decrease in the total entropy of the system is associated with it. These processes are associated with energy transformations, in which a variable is introduced, called entropy that indicates the notion of disorder. Therefore, in any isolated process, the disorder can only grow.

Two charged particles are placed 2.0 meters apart. The first charge is +2.0 E-6 C, and the second charge is +4.0 E-6 C. What is
Anestetic [448]

The electrical force between the two charges can be calculated as +1.8×10⁻² N and its repulsive.

To find the electrical force, distance = 2 meters

charge q1 = 2×10⁻⁶ C

charge q2 = 4×10⁻⁶ C

Define coulomb's law and solve with formula.

         The force of attraction or repulsion acting along a straight line between two electric charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely to the square of the distance between them.

Formula can be written as,

          F = K ( q1q2 / r² )

F - electric force

k - Coulomb constant

q1, q2 - charges

r - distance of separation

Substituting the values in the formula,

         F = 9 × 10⁹ Nm²/C² ( (2×10⁻⁶ C ×  4×10⁻⁶ C) / (2²))

            = 0.0179751

         F = 1.8 × 10 ⁻² N.

As both the charges q1 and q2 are positive, the charges gets repulsive.

SO, the correct answer is Option A.
