URGENT HELP Solve for x.

Mathematics
1 answer:
jasenka [17]3 years ago
6 0

Answer:

x = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

∠WVU is a tangent- tangent angle whose measure is

0.5( major arc WU - minor arc WU), that is

0.5(37x + 5 - (23x - 5) ) = 5x + 17 ← distribute inner parenthesis

0.5(37x + 5 - 23x + 5) = 5x + 17 ← simplify

0.5(14x + 10) = 5x + 17 ← distribute parenthesis

7x + 5 = 5x + 17 ( subtract 5x from both sides )

2x + 5 = 17 ( subtract 5 from both sides )

2x = 12 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 6

State of the triangles in each pair of similar. If so, State how you know they are similar and complete the similarity statement
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

  b.  not similar

Step-by-step explanation:

The given sides* have the ratio 30:39 = 10:13 in one triangle and the ratio 20:27 = 10:13.5 in the other triangle. Since these ratios are different, the triangles cannot be similar.

____

* These are the sides bracketing the vertical angles at T. If the triangles were similar, the three sides would have to have the ratios 10 : 13 : 13.5.

However, the geometry shown would require that the angle opposite side 13.5 in one triangle have the same measure as the angle opposite side 13 in the other triangle. That is not possible, so it is not possible for these triangles to be similar.

Stuck in this problem help please
marta [7]
Use trigonometry.

tan30° = perpendicular / base

Here for angle 30° , x is perpendicular while 10 is the base.

tan30° = 1/√3
1/√3 = x/10
x = 10/✓3

By rationalising
x = 10√3/3

Hope This Helps You!
