Don Quixote is a lovely but insane character at the same time. After reading too many books about chivalrous knights, Don Quixote begins to live life and perceive the world in an idealistic way. He has a sense of earnest purpose, acting on the intent of making the world better through his chivalrous actions. However, that only makes his behavior impetuous and erratic. Don Quixote's blunders are certainly funny to "watch", but bring little good to the world. As a matter of fact, they can even cause harm.
