adelina 88 [10]
Post hoc is a logical sequence that triggers fallacy due to causation. This states that since Event X follows after Event Y, therefore, Event Y was caused by Event X. For example,

Laney borrowed my laptop to do her project. When she returned it to me, I found out that all my email messages were deleted. Therefore, Laney deleted them.

This cannot be necessarily true all the time. I may have accidentally deleted them through my phone. Laney may not have logged in to my email account. Hence, post hoc is a logical fallacy.

Answer: Students who have more recess will have no behavior problems in the classroom.

Explanation:

The first statement can be proven true. It is fact without bias.

The second statement contains a fallacy. Recess CAN reduce negative behavior in class, but not cut it out completely. Therefore, this statement is a logical fallacy, specifically an overgeneralization.

The third statement involves opinions of others in masses, so it can be proven true.

The fourth statement is a survey, and it can be proven true.
