Answer:

Using the FIFO cost method:

beginning WIP 34,600 units

materials $79,000 (100% complete)

conversion $48,200 (30% complete, 70% remaining = 24,220 EU)

units started 662,700

materials added $1,594,520

conversion costs added $566,356

ending WIP 24,100

100% complete for materials

40% complete for conversion = 9,640 EU

units completed and transferred out = 34,600 + 662,700 - 24,100 = 673,200

units started and completed = 662,700 - 34,600 - 24,100 = 604,000

total equivalent units for the month:

materials 662,700

conversion = 24,220 + 604,000 + 9,640 = 637,860

total cost per EU:

materials = $1,594,520 / 662,700 = $2.4061

conversion = $566,356 / 637,860 = $0.8879

total = $3.294

cost of ending WIP:

materials = 24,100 x $2.4061 = $57,987

conversion = 9,640 x $0.8879 = $8,559.36 ≈ $8,559

total = $66,546

cost of units transferred out = $79,000 + $48,200 + $1,594,520 + $566,356 - $66,546 = $2,221,530

total units transferred out = 673,200

production cost per unit = $2,221,530 / 673,200 = $3.30

Which of the following statements is CORRECT? a. If two firms differ only in their use of debt—i.e., they have identical assets,
defon

Answer: a. If two firms differ only in their use of debt—i.e., they have identical assets, identical total invested capital, sales, operating costs, interest rates on their debt, and tax rates—but one firm has a higher total debt to total capital ratio, the firm that uses more debt will have a lower profit margin on sales and a lower return on assets.

Explanation:

A firm that uses more debt financing will have to pay more interest. Interest is an expense that is deducted from Net Income so the more the debt, the higher the interest payment and the lower the net profit/ income.

Profit margin on sales is calculated by dividing profit by the sales revenue and  return on assets is calculated by dividing net income by the average total assets. Both these ratios use the Net income as the numerator so if it is lower as a result of more interest payments, the ratio will be lower as well.

Answer:

a) quota: $ 802.43

b) 500 and then, 484.88 for interest

   302.43 and 317.54

C) total interest: 984.88

D) the interest will decrease and the amortization over time will increase

E) as the loan has a given date. At that date the principal outstanding must be zero therefore, after each payment the principal is reduced making interest decrease as well. This decrease in interest is replaced with an increase in the amortization-

Explanation:

PV \div \frac{1-(1+r)^{-time} }{rate} = C\\

PV 10,000

time 20

rate 0.05

10000 \div \frac{1-(1+0.05)^{-20} }{0.05} = C\\

C  $ 802.426

Interest on first quota:

10,000 x 0.05 = 500

Amortization on first quota:

802.43 - 500 = 302.43

Interest in second quota:

(10,000 - 302.43) x 0.05 = 484,8785‬

amortization on second quota:

802.42 - 484,88 = 317,54‬

Interest for the year:

500 + 484.88 = 984.88

Ilya [14]

Answer:

$102,870

Explanation:

The computation of Total cash disbursements is shown below:-

Variable overhead = Direct labor budget × Variable overhead rate

= 8,100 × $1.40

= $11,340

Fixed expenses incurred in cash = Total fixed expenses - Depreciation

= $100,440 - $8,910

= $91,530

Total cash disbursements = Total variable manufacturing overhead + Fixed cash overhead

= $91,530 + $11,340

= $102,870

Therefore for computing the Total cash disbursements we simply applied the above formula.
