One of the main factors that contributed to the start of World War I was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand in June 1914. Franz was the archduke Austria-Hungary. A Serbian-nationalist terrorist group called the Black Hand claimed responsibility for the assassination. Because of this Austria-Hungary and Serbia were at war which brought in Germany as an ally of Austria-Hungary and Russia as an ally of Serbia. As more and more countries went to war mostly because of alliances it became World War I as we know it today.

He did however kill many native people and also bought diseases that killed even more native people. In conclusion we should recognize him for what he did towards the progression of the New World whilst knowing the bad things he committed.
