acteriophages were labeled with radioactive phosphorous (32P) and sulfur (35S). The labeled bacteriophages were then allowed to

infect their host cells. At the end of the experiment, the 32P label was found only inside the host cells and the 35S label was found only outside the host cells. This experiment shows that:

Answer:

They concluded that DNA is a genetic material.

Explanation:

This experiment shows that the DNA is genetic material. For performing experiments, the DNA of bacteriophages is labelled with radioactive phosphorous (32P) and proteins were labelled with sulfur (35S) in order to detect the action of bacteriophages. The bacteriophages attack on the bacteria by inserting its DNA in the bacteria. We can see this because radioactive phosphorus is present in DNA of bacteriophages while the protein did not enter into the bacteria and remain outside the cell and we can see it because protein is made up of sulphur.

Why is phenotypic variation necessary for natural selection
Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

Phenotypic variation is the variation which appears in the phenotype or morphology of the organism. Natural selection is the mechanism of evolution in which the adapated organism to the environment is selected or highly favoured during the course of evolution.

A phenotype is the results of the genetic change which to be established in a population has to be passed on to the generation.

Since variation in phenotypic traits allows the organism to leave indifferent circumstances therefore phenotypic variation proves essential condition to natural selection.
