Northern Ireland was strife with mass protests, rebellions, and riots that sees the armies in conflict with the revolutionaries and other free Ireland supporters. Since Ireland has been under the British for so long, there had been numerous political conflicts between the two regarding the independence of Ireland most famously known as the Troubles. Nationalist parades and gunfights were a usual scene.

The mural depicts two paramilitary personnel armed with guns aimed at the audience or onlooker contains the words "Prepared for peace" on the left side and "Ready for War" on the right side. This <u>shows the readiness of the parties to compromise with their choice, either peace or war</u>. The mural was believed to be painted by the UVF (Ulster Volunteer Force) and was located in Belfast, Northern Ireland but has been shifted to a more prominent place.
