Answer: the other answer was copied offline :(

The differences are that Daedalus has a nephew call Talos. He wants him to be like Icarus but Icarus is very clumsy. There is also this predator bird that tells Daedalus that he hates Talos and that he wants to kill him. He asked Talos if he thought that flying is possible and Talos said yes that it could be so then he swirls him around and because he is on the roof at that time, Daedalus purposely swung him off the roof and then Talos died. In the movie the story carries on after Icarus dies. In the movie, Daedalus kills King Minos in the bath by pouring boiling hot water into the bath, this was after Icarus dies. Daedalus gets found by Minos again before he kills him. They don’t live in a soaring tower in the labyrinth Minos told him to build.

Similarities:

It’s the same story, names and idea. There is mostly the same characters. They try to escape from Crete. Daedalus makes wings. Daedalus makes Minos’s labyrinth. There is a Minotaur. Icarus dies. King Minos is mean and ugly. Icarus is a young boy. Daedalus is an inventor.

Ainat [17]
I believe the last one. A dangling modifier is a word or phrase that defines something or someone not spoken about in the sentence. So "a successful career as an author seemed certain", but seemed certain to who? A fair warning: I could be wrong.

TRIPLE POINTS, please help!!
iris [78.8K]

Common Points:

 • In “The Black Ball” by Ralph Ellison is a story that focuses mainly on racial discrimination and prejudice.
 • In “Why, You Reckon?” by Langston Hughes is also focused on the struggle of the African Americans in American society.

Differences:

 • In “The Black Ball” by Ralph Ellison uses metaphors and allegories and characterization to show how racism and discrimination affect people in their way of being and thinking. The story happens in a Hotel, John works at it and has a conflict with the Hotel Manager and The Union worker.
 • In “Why, You Reckon?” by Langston Hughes uses slang words that were used in the 1930s and also uses a lot of suffixes like “ing” and “in”. He also uses a lot of symbolism even though he speaks about real places like Harlem and the darkness of the furnace. The story takes place in Harlem New York a place of extreme poverty in the 1930s.

The main difference between both stories is that Hughes wants to show the pursuit of happiness despite adversities. In the Black Ball, Ellison tries to show that there is no differences between people.
