Read this excerpt from a personal narrative. “That will be $7.50,” the cashier said after ringing up the groceries I hoped to pu

rchase. I looked in my wallet and saw only a $5 bill. My face flushed as I realized I would have to put a few things back. “Um . . . sorry. I thought I had more money with me,” I replied. “What if I put back the bottle of juice? How much will that be?” Immediately, the woman standing in line behind me reached into her purse, pulled out $2.50, and handed it to the cashier. “Oh, thanks,” I said, surprised and relieved at the same time. “This is so generous of you. How can I repay you?” “Don’t thank me,” the woman replied. “I’m no saint. I just don’t want to wait in line any longer. Now you can go, and I can finally buy my groceries and get out of here.” How does the dialogue in the paragraph help develop the narrative? It explains why the narrator does not have enough money to buy groceries. It explains how the experience in the store has shaped the identity of the author. It provides background information that helps the reader get to know the characters. It reveals the characters’ thoughts and feelings about their experiences in the store.

Why do you think tituba was the first one blamed for witchcraft
maria [59]

Tituba was the first one blamed for witchcraft because she was a slave, the lowest of the low, the bottom class, below even the poor and homeless. Not only did this make her an easy target of blame for the girls, but to make her situation worse, she had been known for having known voodoo from her home in Barbados. She had been the one to stir the pot, and to sing songs in her native tongue. It is for all these reasons that the blame of witchcraft was thrown at Tituba. I hope that this answer helped!

Should ever American complete two years of military duty immediately following high school
erma4kov [3.2K]
Some do advocate this position yes. The proponents of this idea say it will teach young people how to overcome obstacles and instill in them some good work ethic and moral striving. Some of them say this is only about teaching young people values of hard work, and that the young people should not be sent into combat unless they want to. On the other hand this really should be a personal choice, whether or not one wants to serve into military. And forceful conscription can lead to rise in militarism, totalitarianism and even to manipulating of the new generations, which would harm the society.
