Answer: I hope this helps :)

Substitution:  45+15(6-1)

Simplify:  120

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate within parenthases (6-1) =5    =45+15(5)

Multiply left to right 15(5)=75 =45+75

Add leftg to right 45+75=120

Answer = 120

Which number produces an irrational number when added to 5/8?
givi [52]
Choice D will create an irrational number when added. This is because a rational number plus a rational number will always be irrational (you can experiment this by trying to add rational numbers to pi). For example, 3 + pi = 6.1415926..... or 1+ \frac{2}{7} =1.285714....

Please solve this simultaneous equation, i'm not that good at it.

2r-s=10
rs-s^2=12
o-na [289]

Answer:

s = 6, r = 8 or s = 4, r = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

2r - s = 10

2r = 10 + s

r = 5 + s/2 --(1)

rs - s^2 = 12 --(2)

sub (1) into (2):

(5 + s/2)s - s^2 = 12

5s + 0.5s^2 - s^2 = 12

-0.5s^2 + 5s - 12 = 0

s^2 - 10s + 24 = 0

(s - 6)(s - 4) = 0

therefore s = 6 or s = 4

when s = 6, r = 8 and when s = 4, r = 7
