Confucian teachings are based on a philosopher from China, and not many of the founders would have known about Confucius, who was not widely read in the West at that time.
By contrast, Roman, Greek, and Enlightenment concepts were hugely influential to the founders. At the time, a formal education consisted primarily of reading the "classics" (i.e. the literature and philosophy of Ancient Greece and Rome), and some of the most widely circulated texts in the colonies were works by Enlightenment philosophers such as John Locke and Francis Bacon.
