The correct answer is C) close to people of similar ethnicities, cultures, and religions.

The usual settlement pattern of immigrants was "close to people of similar ethnicities, cultures, and religions."

This made sense because immigrants left their native countries for many reasons. It could be religious or political persecution, lack of opportunities, poverty, or hunger. When they emigrated to the United States looking for better living conditions for their families, they wanted to be close to other people form the same former country. Immigrants were now in a different country, with a different culture, so far away from their native nations. So it was logical that they looked to establish close, next to, or with their people.

TiliK225 [7]

New York Times vs The United States was a legal case in which the Supreme Court ultimately ruled in favor of the newspaper to publish classified Pentagon papers without the risk of being censored by the government. President Nixon, relying on executive authority, attempted to force The New York Times into not publishing the documents.

The court based its decision on the first amendment of the Constitution, which prevented the government to create laws that would censor the right of freedom of speech of the citizens.

In your opinion, is taking the law into one's own hands
Svet_ta [14]
The simple answer to your complex question is NO. This is assuming that you live in a country where there are good laws (remember that history is full of bad governments that implemented bad laws) and that law enforcement is effective. Simplisticly, you should only ask yourself this question when your or your families life is being threatened and law enforcement is not around. Your response must still be within the constraints of your laws or you will find yourself in hot water. I'm not even going to try to discuss the ethics and morals that can apply as the situation can vary immensely. Keep it simple - don't operate outside the law, rather fight against unjust laws.
