1. There are 25 students who started computer programming in elementary school and 25 students who started computer programming

in middle school. The first group had a mean final project grade of 95% and the second group had a mean final project grade of 92%.
The line plot shows the differences after 10 rerandomizations. Determine whether the difference in the means of the two groups is significant based on the line plot. Explain your answer.

Based on the line plot, the difference between the groups' mean final project grade is never equal to zero.

There is a significant difference between the two groups if and only if their difference is not equal to zero.

Since the 10 rerandomizations indicate that the difference cannot be equal to zero, then there is indeed a significant difference.

Given tan θ = 3/4 for acute angle θ, find the value of a and b for the statement cos θ = a/b.
Furkat [3]

Step-by-step explanation:

\tan \theta = \frac{3}{4} \\ \\ \sec \theta = \sqrt{1 + { \tan }^{2} \theta} \\ \hspace{22 pt} = \sqrt{1 + {( \frac{3}{4} )}^{2} } \\ \hspace{22 pt} = \sqrt{1 + {\frac{9}{16} }} \\ \hspace{22 pt} = \sqrt{ {\frac{16 + 9}{16} }} \\ \hspace{22 pt} = \sqrt{ {\frac{25}{16} }} \\ \red{ \boxed{\bold{ \therefore \sec \theta = { {\frac{5}{4} }} }}} \\ \\ \cos \theta = \frac{1}{\sec \theta } = \frac{4}{5} = \frac{a}{b} \\ \\ \implies \: a = 4 \: and \: b = 5

in a bag of 20 marbles, 4 are blue. what is the probability that one taken at random will not be blue?
Ber [7]
Your answer is 4/5, which is 80% or 0.8

If there are 20 marbles in total in the bag, and 4 blue ones, that means that the probability of taking a blue one is 4/20.

This means that the probability of not taking a blue one is 1 - 4/20, or 20/20 - 4/20, which equals 16/20 = 4/5

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions :)
