Clark plans to fertilize his yard this summer. His yard is 40 feet wide a 60 feet long. thus included a 4 foot wide and 20 foot

long flower bed, which he will not fertilize. A bag of fertilizer costs $8.25 and covers 1,000 square feet. He also hopes to fertilize his neighbors yard the neighbors yard is 50 feet wide and proportional to clarks yard including a 5 foot wide and 30 foot long flower bed that will not be fertilized how long is the neighbors yard? set up a proportion. How many square feet of his own yard will clark fertilize. If clark bought only 3 bags to fertilize both yards how many square feet will remain unfertillized when he runs out

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

the area of Clark's yard = 60 * 40 = 2400 square feet

the area of the flower bed in his area = 4 * 20 = 80 square feet

the area to be fertilized = 2400 - 80 = 2320 square feet

∵the two yards are proportional

∴\frac{L1}{W1}=\frac{L2}{W1} where L1 and W1 are the length and width of clark's yard and L2 and W2 are his neighbor's yard

\frac{60}{40} =\frac{L2}{50}

L2 = 75 feet

the area of his neighbors yard = 75 * 50 = 3750 square feet

the area of flower bed = 5 * 30 = 150 square feet

area to be fertilized = 3600 square feet

the area that will remain unfertilized = 5920 - 3000 = 2920 square feet

-6(-4x + 3) = 2(10x + 3)
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

x = -6/11

Step-by-step explanation:

-6(-4x + 3) = 2(10x + 3)

-6 * -4x = -24x

-6 * 3 = -18

2 * 10x = 20x

2 * 3 = 6

-24x - 18 = 20x + 6

-20x           -20x

-44x - 18 = 6

+18           +18

-44x = 24

-------   ------

 -44      -44

24/-44 = -24/44

-24/44 = -6/22

x = -6/11

Desmond wants to sell his car that he paid $8,000 for 2 years ago. The car depreciated, or decreased in value, at a constant rat
butalik [34]

Answer:

8,000-24x

Step-by-step explanation:

there's 24 months in 2 years. If it's value decreased from 8,000 at a constant rate over a 2 year period, the equation would be 8,000-24x

-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

-15

Step-by-step explanation:

-7p+10p-16=6p+36-7

3p-16=6p+29

3p-6p=29+16

-3p=45

p=45/-3

p=-15

<h3>Answer: 1</h3>

========================================================

Explanation:

We're given the height in relation to base BC, so we need to find the length of this base. This is the same as finding the distance from B to C.

Turn to the distance formula

d = \text{Distance from B to C}\\\\d = \sqrt{(x_1-x_2)^2+(y_1-y^2)^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{(-2-(-3))^2+(-1-(-2))^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{(-2+3)^2+(-1+2)^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{(1)^2+(1)^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{1+1}\\\\d = \sqrt{2}\\\\

Coincidentally, the base and height are the same. This won't always be the case.

Now we can find the area of the triangle

A = \text{Area of triangle}\\\\A = \frac{1}{2}*\text{Base}*\text{Height}\\\\A = \frac{1}{2}*\sqrt{2}*\sqrt{2}\\\\A = \frac{1}{2}*\sqrt{2*2}\\\\A = \frac{1}{2}*\sqrt{4}\\\\A = \frac{1}{2}*2\\\\A = 1\\\\

The area of the triangle is 1 square unit.
