Answer:

Δ PQT ~ Δ QRS  .....{S-S-S test for similarity}...Proof is below.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

In Δ PQT

PQ = 30 ft

QT = 28 ft

TP = 20 ft

In Δ QRS

QR = 15 ft

RS = 14 ft

SQ = 10 ft

To Prove:

Δ PQT ~ Δ QRS

Proof:

First we consider  the ratio of the sides

\frac{PQ}{QR}=\frac{30}{15} = \frac{2}{1}            ..............( 1 )

\frac{QT}{RS}=\frac{28}{14} = \frac{2}{1}            ..............( 2 )

\frac{TP}{SQ}=\frac{20}{10} = \frac{2}{1}            ..............( 3 )

So By equation ( 1 ), ( 2 ) and  ( 3 ) we get

\frac{PQ}{QR}=\frac{QT}{RS} = \frac{TP}{SQ}

Now in Δ PQT  and Δ QRS we have

\frac{PQ}{QR}=\frac{QT}{RS} = \frac{TP}{SQ}

Which are corresponding sides of a similar triangle in proportion.

∴ Δ PQT ~ Δ QRS  .....{S-S-S test for similarity}...Proved

Pls help, I don’t understand how to do this
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

5 parts are shaded and 4 parts are white so:

There are 9 parts all together.

We can then form ratio's of the white areas and the shaded areas:

White Area Ratio =

\frac{4}{9}

Shaded Area Ratio =

\frac{5}{9}

Let the area of sqaure be equated to x, which means let the entire area of the square equal to x:

x = Area of whole square

Now we can form an equation :

\frac{5}{9} x = 165

So now we just need to solve for x:

x = \frac{165}{ \frac{5}{9} }

x = 297

The area of the square is:

297 {cm}^{2}

Find the sum or difference <br> 1/2 - 1/14<br> A.3/7<br> B.2/7<br> C.4/7
pogonyaev

Answer:

A.3/7

Step-by-step explanation:

1/2 - 1/14

We need to get a common denominator of 14

1/2 * 7/7 = 7/14

7/14 - 1/14 = 6/14

We can simplify by dividing the top and bottom by 2

3/7

What is the length of the hypotenuse, c? Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

By using the Pythagorean theorem:

b^2+3^2=5^2
b^2+9=25

b=sqrt (25-9)

b=sqrt(16)

b=4

=> 4^2+7^2=c^2
16+49=c^2
65=c^2
=>c=sqrt(65)

c = (approximately) 8

suppose A and B are complementary angles, m a =(3x+5) and m b= (2x-15). Solve for x and then find m a and m b
vlada-n [284]
2 angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90°.

For example  if m(P) = 41°  and m(Q)=49°, then P and Q are complementary.

Thus A and B are complementary means that m(A)=m(B)=90°:

(3x+5°) + (2x-15°) =90°

5x-10°=90°

5x=100°

x=20°

Thus

m(A)=3x+5°=3* 20°+5°=60°+5°=65°

m(B)=2x-15°=2*20°-15°=40°-15°=25°
