urs for the week. Part A: Create an equation that shows the amount of money earned, E, for working x hours in a week when there is no overtime. (3 points) Part B: Create an equation that shows the amount of wages earned, T, for working y hours of overtime. Hint: Remember to include in the equation the amount earned from working 35 hours. Part A)
Let
E-----------> t<span>he amount of money earned
x----------> hours working in a week-----> </span><span>$18 an hour
</span><span>we know that
</span>E=18x ---------> equation that shows the amount of money earned <span>for working x hours in a week
</span>conditioned to <span> x<= 35  hours--------> </span>is no overtime

Part B)
Let
T----------------> the amount of money earned
<span>y -------------- > hours of overtime-------> </span><span>$25 an hour
for x=35 hour----------> E=18*35=$630
T=630+25y------> </span>equation that shows the amount of wages earned for working y hours of overtime and 35 hour in a week
<span>
Part C)
</span><span>if Dominic earned $730 in 1 week
$630------------> earned for working 35 hours in a regular week
</span>[<span>hours of overtime]=(730-630)/25=100/25=4 hours

[total hours worked]=35+4=39 hours

the answer is 39 hours  (35 hours regular +4 hours overtime)

Using long division to find the quotient, what changes do you first
lora16 [44]

Answer:

\frac{125x^3 - 8}{5x - 2} = 25x^2 + 10x +4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Dividend = 125x^3 - 8

Divisor = 5x - 2

Required

Determine the quotient

See attachment for complete process.

First, divide 125x^3 by 5x

\frac{125x^3}{5x} =25x^2

Write 25x^2 at the top

Multiply 5x - 2 by 25x^2

= 125x^3 - 50x^2

Subtract from 125x^3 - 8

i.e.

125x^3 - 8 - (125x^3 - 50x^2) = 50x^2 - 8

Step 2:

Divide 50x^2 by 5x

\frac{50x^2}{5x} = 10x

Write 10x at the top

Multiply 5x - 2 by 10x

= 50x^2 - 20x

Subtract from 50x^2 - 8

i.e.

50x^2 - 8 - (50x^2 - 20x) = 20x - 8

Step 3:

Divide 20x by 5x

\frac{20x}{5x} = 4

Write 4 at the top

Multiply 5x - 2 by 4

= 20x - 8

Subtract from 20x - 8

i.e.

20x - 8 - (20x - 8) = 0

Hence:

\frac{125x^3 - 8}{5x - 2} = 25x^2 + 10x +4

Where are the asymptotes for the following function located? f(x)= 7/ x^2-2x-24
Zarrin [17]
Factor the demoniator:-

x^2 -2x - 24 = (x - 6)(x + 4)

the asymptotes occurs when denominator = 0

so here they are  the vertical lines x = 6 and x = -4
