The maximum weight that could be held would be 32 pounds. or six five pound weights taking up 18 inches of space, and weighing 30 Lbs, and two one pound weights adding another two inches. You could achieve a greater weight if you had a weight of one-half inch, in which case you could take six 5 lb weights and 1 two  pound weight, then you could add a half inch weight bringing the weight to over 32 inches. Since we don't have a half inch weight we can't raise the weight above 32lbs.

The average systolic blood pressure was found to be 140 mm for people who have high responsibility jobs, specifically investment
9966 [12]

Answer:

Option B)

H_{0}: \mu = 140\text{ mm}\\H_A: \mu < 140\text{ mm}

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Hypothesis:

The doctors and u=instructor claims that practicing yoga reduces blood pressure and hence is beneficial to people.

Population mean, μ =  140 mm

Sample mean, \bar{x} =  139 mm

Sample size, n = 51

Sample standard deviation, s = 5 mm

Thus, we can design the null hypothesis and alternate hypothesis as

H_{0}: \mu = 140\text{ mm}\\H_A: \mu < 140\text{ mm}

The null hypothesis states that the population have a blood pressure of 140 mm. The alternate hypothesis states that yoga reduces the blood pressure and the sample has a blood pressure less than 140 mm.

Thus, the correct answer is

Option B)

H_{0}: \mu = 140\text{ mm}\\H_A: \mu < 140\text{ mm}

Liam makes soap sculptures of sea turtles. Each sculpture weighs 3\8 pounds he ships them in a wooden box that weighs 2 pounds t
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

8 turtles

Step-by-step explanation:

Each of Liam's sea turtle sculpture weighs 3\8 pounds and he ships them in a wooden box that weighs 2 pounds.

The weight of the box filled with the sea turtles is 5 pounds.

This means that the weight of the sea turtles in the wooden box is:

5 - 2 = 3 pounds

To find the number of sea turtles in the box, we simply divide the total weight of the turtles in the box by the weight of each turtle. That is:

\frac{3}{\frac{3}{8} } = 8 turtles

There are 8 turtles in the box.
