How many mitochondria does an average human muscle contain?
Novay_Z [31]

The chondrioma of a cell is the set of 300 to 800 mitochondria (from 1000 to 3000 in muscle cells, 2500 of which in a parenchymal cell of the liver or, which is a smooth muscle) which constitute up to 25% of the cell mass.

Very numerous in young cells and / or very active, which require a lot of energy (like spermatozoa), mitochondria are organelles because they constitute functional units of the cell: they are the "energy factories". Omnipresent in any animal or plant cell, mitochondria exist even in anucleate blood thrombocytes.

How are tendons and ligaments similar and how are they different
ElenaW [278]

Answer: They are both connecting tissues but they connect different parts.

Explanation: The similarity between tendons and ligaments is that they are both connective tissues in the body and they are made of long collagen fibers that form a tough band.

The major difference between tendons and ligaments is that they connect different structures of the body. Tendons connect muscles to bones while ligaments connect bones to other bones.

Prokaryotic cells have a simpler structure than eukaryotic cells. Evidence shows that eukaryotic cells evolved from prokaryotic cells. Some might argue that prokaryotic cells are less important than eukaryotic cells. But a case can be made that prokaryotic cells are just as important to life on Earth today as eukaryotic cells. Which do you think is true? Are prokaryotic cells important to life on Earth? Analyze the similarities and differences of these cell types to explain your position.
why this is in my portfolio
I chose this because I think I wrote my argument well and because if I put this in my portfolio more people will know how awesome prokaryotes are
