English

Answer:

A. Walking along the shore, Rosie and her little sister began to notice many starfish on the rocks.

Explanation:

Participial phrase is a set of words whose main part is participle and as a whole functions as an adjective.

Infinitive phrase has an infinitive as main part and can have many functions in a sentence.

Sentences C. and D. don't have infinitive at all (to + verb).

Sentence B. has infinitive (to calm down) but it doesn't havs participle. "taking" although looks like participle, is actually gerund. The whole phrase (taking a long walk) doesn't modify any noun, it functions as a subject.

Finally, sentence A. has an infinitive (to notice) and infinitive phrase (to notice many starfish on the rocks). Since this modifies verb "began" this server as an adverb. Also, there iss a participle (walking) and participial phrase (walking along the shore). This functions as an adjective because it modifies Rosa and her sister.

Little Crazy's pizza is expensive, not to mention terrible. It's greasy, the crust is stale, and it costs a whopping $4 a slice!
OlgaM077 [116]
When you condemn something, you give reasons to why something is bad, when you endorse something, you are promoting it.

So, in this passage, it first condemns other pizza restaurants, then endorses one.

So, "D" is the answer.

I hope this helps!

An important aspect of a theme is that it is "universal" which means it can be applied beyond the story itself. Compare and cont
Alenkasestr [34]

The story “Mercury and the Workmen,” a famous Greek fable, deals with the topic of honesty. In the story, the honest man is rewarded, and the dishonest one punished, highlighting the importance of honesty and the benefits it can bring. This theme is universal, as honesty is appreciated everywhere in the world. This moral therefore is relevant for a wide range of stories and situations beyond the Greek story itself.

Another famous story that gives a lesson on the importance of honesty is “The Necklace” by Guy de Maupassant. There are several similarities between both stories. In both cases, dishonesty is punished, and the dishonest characters end up worse than they would have been if they had not attempted to tell a lie. However, they are different in that in the Greek story, it is Mercury who punishes the liar, while in the French story the consequences are brought about by fate. Also, the motivation to lie in the first story is greed, while in the second one it is a desire for recognition and status. Both stories are good examples of this universal theme.
