Answer:

 Technolgy helps with one's basic motor functions and disabilities. With recent advancements in the past century, we have been bale to make prosthetics for people without limbs, eyes, appendages, and even joints in elderly people's knees. These prosthetics help disabled people run and walk.

  Another way technology helps disabled peole is with wheelchair lifts for buses, SUV's, and other large vehicles. It looks like a forklift, but it is also a functioning sort of elevator for people in wheelchairs, so they can ride buses and in other vehicles with everyone else.

Unless this Is a riddle and since you never said that any thieves  technically left the church then there are still five candles in the church.
