Answer: Fertile Soil

Explanation:

Before the Spanish came to Texas, the Eastern part of Texas was occupied by Indians who took advantage of the fertile land to practice extensive agriculture.

With the arrival of the Spanish however, their numbers decreased and they increasingly turned to raiding farms granted to Mexican settlers by the Government.

When Mexico got independence from Spain they became more worried about the Indian raids and sought to increase the non-indian population so they invited Americans to settle there and offered them land to do so.

The result was that Americans seeing the fertile lands that could be useful for cotton came in their numbers and eclipsed even the Mexicans in number.

Texas would eventually come under American control.

1. What were the underlying causes of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s-1960s?
-BARSIC- [3]

Civil Rights Movement was caused by the rampant discrimination of the segregation laws that had continued in the USA.

Explanation:

Segreagation laws were an arachaic practice that had continued in the USA even as the world was rapidly decolonizing and becoming increasingly free among its people.

Many countries had already achieved universal suffrage but USA was far behind in this thing from the other countrysides of the world

Thus the leaders felt that there was a need for revolution to bring constitutional equality to USA that it has always talked about in its constitution but never actually practiced in real.
