Thurgood Marshal (1908-1993) was a lawyer that is best renowned for being the first African American justice of the Supreme Court. He studied at the University of Maryland and graduated in 1933. During his life as a lawyer, he supported the black’s civil rights and was part of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP). The most famous case of Brow was in 1954: Brown V. Board of Education. He became a justice of the Supreme Court in 1966, after being nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson.
