In 1908, Hoover became an independent, traveling worldwide until the world war 1 <span> in 1914.
</span>When the world war 1<span> began in August 1914, Hoover helped return of around 120,000 Americans from Europe. He led 500 volunteers in food, clothing, steamship tickets and cash.

The Mayflower Compact is often cited as one of the foundations of the US Constitution. The Pilgrims in England received a land patent from the Virginia Company and created their own joint-stock company for the enterprise.

<span>The share of people in the labor force involved in agricultural work has not only declined, it has declined dramatically over the last century. Although agricultural employment had already been in gradual decline from its peak, the widespread introduction of the mechanized tractor and combine in the 1920s caused a sharp decline which has continued, though at a slower pace, to this day. Currently about 2% of the workforce is engaged in agricultural production, down from 50% a century and a half ago.</span>
The steam locomotive allowed for the transportation of goods at a much more rapid rate than by horse. The railroad let people know exactly where and when goods would arrive. The trains also gave the cargo a safer ride as it was much more difficult to rob a train than a horse drawn transport. As more railroads were built, products could travel farther than ever before in a timely manner. This brought down the cost of freight transport and increased profits for many businesses.
