There are 12 total sections, of which 3 are blue. So the probability of spinning a blue is 3/12 which reduces to 1/4.

Each spin is independent.....because 1 spin does not effect the other spin. If u should spin a blue on the first spin...this does not effect what ur second spin will land on

emmainna [20.7K]

Answer:

3840

Step-by-step explanation:

8×(4+5+7)(2+3)×(11-5)

8×(16)(5)×(6)

128(5)×(6)

640×6=3840

I think this is the answer but I am confused about the equation. :)

1. Identify the centers and radii of the following circles.
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

a) (-25,0)\, ,r=1

b) (-1,4)\, ,r=3

c) (10,5)\, ,r=10

d) (0,0)\, ,r=\sqrt{19}

e) (-\frac{1}{2},-\frac{1}{2})\, ,r = \dfrac{1}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

the general equation of a circle is can be represented in two forms

  • (x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r^2

here,

the centre is: (a,b)

radius is: r

  • x^{2}+y^{2}+2gx+2fy+c=0

here,

the centre is: (-g,-f)

radius is: \sqrt{g^2 + f^2 -c}

Given these two forms we can solve the questions:

a) (x+25)^2+y^2=1

this resembles the first equation of the circle hence we can compare them.

for center: we can see that +25 is the place of '-a', there is nothing in the place of b.

-a = 25 solve for  a

a = -25

similarly,

b = 0

the center is (a,b) = (-25,0)

for radius:

r^2 = 1

r = \sqrt{1}

r = 1, we'll not take '-1' since that negative numbers don't apply to lengths.

b) x^2+2x+y^2-8y=8

we can clearly see that this resembles the second general equation. Hence by comparison we can find +2x is in the place of +2gx, and solve for g.

+2gx=+2x

g=1

similarly

+2fy=-8y

f=-4

the centre of the circle is denoted by (-g,-f) = (-1,4)

for radius:

r = \sqrt{g^2 + f^2 -c}

side note: the value of 'c' can be found if we simply move 8 from the right hand side of the equation to the left. x^2+2x+y^2-8y-8=0

r = \sqrt{1^2 + (-4)^2 -(-8)}

r = \sqrt{9}

r = 3

c) x^2-20x+y^2-10y+25=0

we'll do these in the same manner as (b)

+2gx=-20x

g=-10

+2fy=-10y

f=-5

the centre of the circle is denoted by (-g,-f) = (10,5)

for radius:

r = \sqrt{g^2 + f^2 -c}

r = \sqrt{(-10)^2 + (-5)^2 -25}

r = \sqrt{(-10)^2 + (-5)^2 -25}

r = 10

d) x^2+y^2=19

this is easy in the sense that both general equations apply here. We can either say since there is no 2gx and 2fy term, both g and f are zeros hence the centre is (0,0)

or we can also say there's no 'a' and 'b', hence the centre is (0,0).

the centre is: (a,b) = (-g,-f) = (0,0)

the radius can also be found through any of the two equations, but to keep it short we'll just use:

r^2 = 19

r = \sqrt(19)

e) x^2+x+y^2+y=-1/4

this is one is again similar to the second equation.

for centre:

+2gx = x

g = \dfrac{1}{2}

+2fy = y

f = \dfrac{1}{2}

the centre of the circle is denoted by (-g,-f) = (-\frac{1}{2},-\frac{1}{2})

for radius:

r = \sqrt{g^2 + f^2 -c}

r = \sqrt{\left(\dfrac{1}{2}\right)^2 + \left(\dfrac{1}{2}\right)^2 -\left(\dfrac{1}{4}\right)}

r = \sqrt{\dfrac{1}{4}\right}

r = \dfrac{1}{2}

Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

C. Having a low standard of living.

Step-by-step explanation:

It's not a resource that a country might need in order to produce something to trade. There is not a country that would need a low standard of living to produce goods to trade. It's not a resource too.

Plz helpppppppp its mathhh
just olya [345]

Answer:

a) 24

b) average kinetic E = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

we have 2 molecules = 5 kinetic E

2 moleules = 4 kinetic E

2 molecules = 3 kintec E

adding all of these up gives us the value of 24

Step 2:

average = the kintetic E of 3 values / how many different values there are which is 3

(3+4+5) / 3 = 4

Thus, the average kinetic E is 4

Purchases made at small "corner stores" were studied by the authors of a certain paper. Corner stores were defined as stores tha
zvonat [6]

Answer:

a) 0.059

b) 0.579

c) 0.211

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 21.6 grams

Standard Deviation, σ = 6 grams

We are given that the distribution of grams of fat in a corner store purchase is a bell shaped distribution that is a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

a) P(purchase has more than 31 grams of fat)

P(x > 31)

P( x > 31) = P( z > \displaystyle\frac{31 - 21.6}{6}) = P(z > 1.567)

= 1 - P(z \leq 1.567)

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

P(x > 31) = 1 - 0.941 = 0.059 = 5.9\%

b) P(corner store purchase has between 15 and 25 grams of fat)

P(15 \leq x \leq 25) = P(\displaystyle\frac{15 - 21.6}{6} \leq z \leq \displaystyle\frac{25-21.6}{6}) = P(-1.1  \leq z \leq 0.567)\\\\= P(z \leq 0.567) - P(z < -1.1)\\= 0.715 - 0.136 = 0.579 = 57.9\%

P(15 \leq x \leq 25) = 57.9\%

c) Standard error due to sampling =

\displaystyle\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}} = \frac{6}{\sqrt{2}} = 4.24

P(purchase has more than 25 grams of fat for 2 stores)

P(x > 25)

P( x > 25) = P( z > \displaystyle\frac{25 - 21.6}{4.24}) = P(z > 0.802)

= 1 - P(z \leq 0.802)

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

P(x > 25) = 1 - 0.789 = 0.211 = 21.1\%
