Answer: A

Explanation:

There are many reactions to probing questions. Humans generally reacts in a defensive manner then they are been grilled with questions beyond the surface. As much as the interviewer wants to draw out depths from the person they are interviewing, it's absolutely vital that there is a limit to what can be asked and a line needs to be in place between trying to know in full or interrogation.

Narrate a story that ends with the saying if only she had listened
Greeley [361]

Answer:

Her Life

Sarah woke up with a shock. The nightmare again. The same one she’s been having for 2 weeks now. The one about her step-parents finally killing her. She was sitting on her bed, and her parents stormed into her room, and shot her in the heart. She died instantly, but she could still feel. Sarah’s parents kept on shooting her, and then she finds herself falling into her grave. She was flailing her arms to stop herself from falling. She looks around her room. The white walls of her room feel like a jail cell. That's how her step-parents treated her, like she’s a prisoner. The cupboard was as small as a table, maybe a few inches higher than that, but it was still small. She had a carpet with the design of roses, red. Red roses, as red as blood.

‘‘Blood.. Blood…’’ Her mind kept repeating. The dream… So much blood. Still shaken from the frightful nightmare, Sarah went downstairs. Her mother looks up at her. The same face. Everyday. The same disappointed look, which reminds her that she is adopted. ‘‘Why don't we get her married?’’ she always asks her husband. ‘‘I talked to her. So many times. She doesn't want to.’’ he’d respond. Sarah was a very unique girl. When she was just 7 years old, her mother passed away. She was living with her father, and her older brother, Noah.

Noah was two years older than Sarah. Life was good. She would go to school regularly, do homework, and was a very obedient child. When Sarah turned 10, her father went to drop her brother Noah to his soccer practice like he does every week. And left Sarah at home with a babysitter. Then, a drunk man, who was driving his SUV van, crashed into her father’s car. Her father died right away, as a piece of glass stabbed his heart. Her brother, on the other hand, lived a little longer. Sarah was taken to the hospital, to visit her brother.

When he saw her, he said “Ah..There’s my favorite sister..” Sarah was scared and two river of tears streamed down her face. She was sobbing lightly. Then she finally spoke “Are you going to die? Who will take care of me if you are gone? '' Noah responded “It is going to be OK, Sarah...” “NO!” She yelled. “NO, no, no, no, no!! It will not be OK! You can’t die! I WON'T LET YOU!!!” She ran and hugged him tight, thinking that if she held him, he’d stay. “I love you,” Noah said. Then, Sarah heard the heart monitor flatten. Poor Sarah slept right beside her brother, and sobbed quietly, no one could get her off of him. The innocent girl was then sent to the orphanage, as she had no cousin’s, or relatives that would take her in.

A family adopted her when she turned 12. Since then, her step - parents would make her do all the chores, and give her only two meals a day. Ever since then, she hasn’t been the same. Sarah runs upstairs, jumps on her bed, and starts sobbing loudly. ‘‘That’s it.’’ She whispers to herself. ‘‘I can't take this anymore.’’ She gets up, takes her basket, and dumps out her whole drawer. ‘‘Flashlight? Check. Book and pencil? Check. Emergency snack? Check. OK, now...’’ She goes to her cupboard and takes her clothes and stuffs them inside her other picnic basket. She puts on her scarf, and walks towards the clear window.

The house is a small one, so she can jump right out and land on her feet. She grew up in this town, so she knows it like the back of her hand. She quickly goes to the wood, filled with pine tree’s, and the grass as tall as her waist. It was the Autumn of 2018. It’s dark, but she can run away without being seen. She will have to fend for herself from now on, but at least her step-parents won't find her and abuse her. We'll, her mother anyway.. Sarah thought “If only she had listened...”

I believe the answer is: No, depressed people in Eastern cultures do not devalue themselves like depressed people in Western cultures.

Eastern culture place a really high value on hardwork more than the western culture. So, people in eastern culture tend to see the act of succumbing to depression as being weak, which make them tend to deal it by working even harder to accomplish positive in life.
