The correct option is A. The Stamp Act of 1765 was significant in the sense that it was the first direct tax imposed on American colonists. It was an Act of Parliament of the Great Britain. The major reason why this Act was put in place was to provide funds to take care of the troops stationed at the North America after the British victory in the seven years' war.

What class did King Louis XVI want to raise taxes on?
qaws [65]

He tried to - in order to deal with the crippling debts of the French state (mostly incurred by various wars - most recently the French help to the American War of Independence), but he decided that he did not have the authority to impose new taxes. He turned first to an assembly of nobles (it is not true that French nobles paid no taxes - but they were free of some of the more important taxes) and then called an “Estates General” (the first for more than a century) in the hopes that the nobles and church would agree to contribute more money. But the whole thing got horribly out of hand (partly because Louis XVI was a very weak man - but also because he went into mourning for a dead son at a key time politically) and the French Revolution was the result.

strojnjashka [21]

Answer:

Women also helped to care for the soldiers while they were camped and preparing for battle. They sewed uniforms, provided blankets, mended shoes, washed clothes, and cooked for the soldiers. Perhaps the most important role women played during the war was providing medical care for sick and wounded soldiers.

Drag and drop each description to the policy it matches.
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

laissez-faire - supported lack of government intervention in business affairs

Interstate Commerce Act - regulated railroads

Sherman Anti-Trust Act - banned business practices that supported monopolies

Explanation:

Laissez-faire refers to an economic system from the 18th century that was opposing any government intervention in business affairs. In this system, the individual is the center of the society who has the right to freedom; therefore, the government should not be involved in the economy, because of the natural order that ruled the world.

Interstate Commerce Act was adopted in the U.S. in 1887 as a federal law that regulated the railroad industry. This Act fought for the adjustment of railroad rates, in order to make it reasonable and just. However, the government did not have the power to establish specific rates.

Sherman Anti-Trust Act was brought in the U.S. in 1890, as an antitrust law that banned business practices that supported monopolies. The Sherman Anti-Trust Act was designed to help workers and smaller businessmen by providing them better conditions and encouraging competition.

How did shelters of American Indian tribes in the northeast differ from those in the Great Plains?
Olenka [21]

I think the answer is A.

The reason I say this is because Northern American Indians had access to more trees (depending on where in the North) and they would commonly use baby saplings to not only make tools but their frames for animal hide houses (not exactly Tipis these were shaped like boxes). In the Great Plains there wasn't exactly that much wood but there was however mud, and this led to some of the natives using mud to make Sod houses.

Hope this helps and have a nice day.
