Colonist advantages- better leadership than Britain, motivation, knowledge of the land, foreign aid

Therefore, Gandhi was an influential figure in the 20th century because he resorted to nonviolent civil disobedience to help India to achieve freedom and inspired several civil rights movements without raising weapons.
