Modern poetry is concerned with translating feeling and not so much with a poem's structure. Traditional American poetry tried to do both.

The fraternity and sorority students were required to wear their letters (meaning clothing or objects which showcased the Greek
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

The type of figurative language that is "letters" is synecdoche.

Explanation:

Synecdoche is a figure of speech which uses a part to represent the whole and vice versa. In the passage we are analyzing, the word "letters" was a part chosen to represent a whole. Instead of saying that the students were required to wear "the clothing or objects which showcased the Greek letters of their organizations", the author chose to use "letters" as a representative of all that. An example of synecdoche frequently found on the news is when it is said that the White House has issued a report. The White House is being used to represent the people who work in it, or even the President.

What might that footnote provide to help Karim better understand the myth?
Ksju [112]
That footnote can play a large role in helping Karim better understand the myth, because instead of just listing the source, it gives a bit of history about the subject.

How is Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein an epistolary novel
larisa [96]

Mary Shelley uses a multiple narrative in Frankenstein. A multiple narrative (sometimes referred to as an epistolary narrative) uses the voices of multiple characters within the text. Epistolary narratives can also use letters (such as Walton's four letters at the opening of the novel and the letters between the Frankenstein family) to detail parts of the plot and storyline.
