Biology

Pistils and stamens mature at different times because this would ensure cross pollination and more variation would be introduced in the offspring. Pistils and stamens also mature at different times for them to avoid the thing called self pollination. The pistil and stamen  are actually the reproductive part of a  male and a female for the plants.

Determining a person's reaction time (in milliseconds) would involve measurement on a(n) ____ scale of measurement.
goldfiish [28.3K]

Correct Answer: Ratio

Determining a person’s reaction time would involve measurement on a ratio scale that is expressed in milliseconds. It is a point where none of the quality being measured exists and its scale has an absolute zero. In ratio scale, it allows comparisons such as being twice as high or one-half as much. Additionally, in the case of a person’s reaction time, it can be state that a response of 25 milliseconds is twice as fast as a response time of 50 milliseconds.

How do prions, which are misfolded proteins, infect organisms?how do prions, which are misfolded proteins, infect organisms?how
Fynjy0 [20]
When a prion enters a healthy organism, it induces existing, properly folded proteins to convert into the misfolded prion form. In this way, the prion acts as a template to guide the misfolding of more proteins into prion form. In yeast, this refolding is assisted by chaperone proteins such as Hsp104. These refolded prions can then go on to convert more proteins themselves, leading to a chain reaction resulting in large amounts of the prion form.
